The wife of noble character

He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord. - Proverbs 18:22

Kathy, as we celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary for the 15th time, I took some time to reflect on my blessings from a biblical perspective:

A wife of noble character who can find?
     She is worth far more than rubies.
Her husband has full confidence in her
     and lacks nothing of value.
She brings him good not harm
     all the days of her life.
     - Proverbs 31:10-12

She is clothed with strength and dignity;
     she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom,
     and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household,
     and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed;
     her husband also, and he praises her:
"Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."
     - Proverbs 31:25-29

The wife of noble character is her husband's crown ...  (Prov 2:4)

I love you Kathy. I'm sorry we cannot be together this time; know that I'm with you in thought and prayers. Take good care of you mom and kiss the girls for me.

I, too, am sorry we can't be together, and I am incredibly blessed to have your love and support as I help my mother in her healing process.

I am so very happy to be your wife. Thanks for encouraging me to go beyond my comfort level to branch out and try new things. You have helped this once-very-shy-girl have more confidence in herself.

By the way, it is the SIXTEENTH celebration of our 50th anniversary!

Do the math, Kathy

True, we've been married for 16 years, but this is the 15th time we've celebrated.

Married in 1989, first anniversary in 1990, second in 1991, and so on.

Once again, my wife is right

Kathy called tonight to help me with the math. We've been married 16 years, not 15, as I had incorrectly calculated.

OK, so my wife is not only noble but she's good at math, too. :-)
