Mind mapping is not new to my kids. MindManager just makes the process much easier.
I really enjoy coaching Jr. Robotics because it provides me with a tangible way to show young people the results of their creative thinking in action.
I plan to look into teaching the team how to use MindManager as part of the preparations for this year's competition.
Over the next 4 months, the girls and I will be blogging about our team experiences on the way to the robotics competition. Be sure to add this site's RSS feed to your reader so that you can remain informed.
Until then, here's a link to the girl's 2002 Jr. Robotics web site.

Nice site!
As I've gotten involved with mindmapping over the last year, I've gotten the strong impression that it is used more with kids in parts of Europe than here. Although my sons have done some "story webs" at school, I don't think either of them has really been exposed to it. Maybe it's just the way I think, but I find it a very helpful tool -- glad to see you are introducing it to kids.
I'll be stopping by. Thanks for the site.

Hello Dave,
Yes, I agree. I did not learn about mind mapping as a tool until I was an adult. Too bad -- it's a great way to visually organize knowledge.
I'm glad to hear you plan to be a regular! Be sure to subscribe to the RSS feed. I'll be blogging soon about some more that we are doing with mind mapping and kids.

Lucy, MindManager is not free. However, there are many excellent mind mapping programs available. Try searching Google for free mind mapping software. FreeMind is one of many free programs. I have not used tghis but you can learn more at http://freemind.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page I hope this helps.
