Walking through the Bible

Sunday, July 27th, 2003
This weekend, our family enjoyed a special treat: we were able to participate in the popular "Walk through the Old Testament" seminar, hosted by our church.

Over the course of an afternoon, we were taken on an unforgettable adventure back to the beginning of time. We learned to memorize stories (complete with hand motions) of prominent characters and events and places from the Bible.

It was an enjoyable afternoon. There were at least 300-400 adults in the conference center and another 200-300 children in the youth building memorizing the words and motions that tell the stories.  No note taking needed. Then, at the conclusion, we all came together in the conference center to challenge each other (adults vs children) to repeat from memory all of the events and people we had learned about.

We are looking forward to next year, when our church will host a "Walk through the New Testament" Seminar.

If you want to learn about the people, places, and events of the Bible, this is a wonderful seminar and a terrific motivator to help you along the way. http://www.walkthru.org

Walking through the Bible

I did a walk through the Old Testament when I was in YWAM in Hawaii and loved it. I am now a JR. High Youth Pastor and would love to host a Walk throuhg the Old Testament. I live in Tustin, CA. Who would I contact about this?

Walking through the Bible

I am looking for the childrens songs, Walking thru the New Testament and Walking thru the Old Testament. I learned the first part of the Old Testament song when I was a child and got to go to Bible School for one day. I made an impression because at 62 I still remember the first part and have tried for the last few years to find the words and music or a tape so we can use it at out Church. Any help much appreciated. thank you. Sister Judy Allen

re: Walking through the Bible

Judy, I'll have to ask my Children if they have the tape. Meanwhile, you may be able to find what you're looking for at the Walk Through the Buble web site: http://www.walkthru.org. I hope this helps. Grace to you, Eric

Walking through the Bible

Does anyone know of a place I can get a refresher diagram of the hand signals for the Old Testament Walk Thru to remind me? YOu know, "Creation," "Fall" "Flood" etc.

Walking through the Bible

Hi David,

I went to the website and couldn't find anything. I know there was a workbook we brought home after each seminar, and our instructor gave my girls some flashcards as a reward for being so excited about the program. I'm not sure you can get the materials without going through the seminar again. There is a button to click on their site that shows upcoming seminars. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Walking through the Bible

Hi - this is Sandy Eidson - Director of Events and Services for WTB Seminars and Faculty. I enjoyed looking at your site. I thought I would let you know in the kindest way I can that you spell our name Walk Thru the Bible. If you could change the spelling it may help the people locate us even better.

If there is ever anything I/we can do to assist you with the site - please let me know

Sandy

Walking through the Bible

I would like information on doing the new testament motions. I have the old testament so now I am interested in acquiring these. I am using these for the opening of our Sunday School Class. Thanks Twyla

Walking through the Bible

Our Kindergarten through fifth grade kids have just completed a two year study of the O.T, with songs and motions. This Sunday the kids performed what they had learned. Our kid's pastor is now stepping down. We would like to continue with the songs and motions through the N.T. and would like information on obtaining these. Thanks so much, Kelley

Walking through the Bible

The book you get when you attend the seminar has the hand motions spelled out. I was wondering the same thing and am glad they are now written down.

Walking through the Bible

I would really love to teach something like this to my Sunday School kids. I think this is similar to something an old Sunday School teacher of mine taught me a LONG time ago. I've never been to a seminar and won't have time to before the time when I want to teach something like this. Do you know if the handbook that you have the motions in would be available on the Walk Through website? Or if they have another book that might have the hand motions?
